The MX-6 has one of those bodystyles that is appealing even today. Although Mazda had not coined the term Zoom Zoom in 1996, there is no doubt that cars like the MX-6 would have fit right in. In 1996 the car actually lost a few HP's and torque because of changes to the fuel injection (took it down to 160hp and 156 lb ft) from the listed 164 and 160. It returned in 1997 when the V6 moves from port to sequential fuel injection.
